Privacy Policy

Board Ready (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a study app for the cosmetology state board exam. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

The short version

• You don't need an account. The app doesn't ask for your name, email address, or phone number.
• Your answers, study history, and progress are stored on your device.
• We collect usage and crash data to improve the app, and we use a subscription service to manage purchases.
• We do not sell your personal information.

Information stored on your device

Your answers, review schedule, flashcard progress, practice exam results, streak, and the preferences you set (such as your state and exam date) are stored on your device. We do not upload this study history to our servers. Deleting the app deletes it.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data — which features you use, and events such as questions answered, sessions started, and upgrade screens viewed.
• Device data — device model, operating system version, app version, and approximate location (country or city) derived from your IP address.
• Crash and performance data — diagnostic reports when the app crashes or encounters an error.
• Purchase data — your subscription status and purchase history, linked to an anonymous app user ID.
• Advertising identifier — only if you allow tracking when the app asks (see “Tracking and your choices”).

How we use information

• To provide the app's features and remember your settings
• To measure and improve the app, and to find and fix crashes
• To process and manage subscriptions
• To understand which of our marketing brings people to the app
• To respond when you contact us

Services we use

Board Ready relies on the following providers. Each processes data under its own privacy policy.

• Google Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase, Crashlytics, Remote Config) — usage analytics, crash reporting, and app configuration. Firebase privacy
• RevenueCat — subscription management. It receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase records. RevenueCat privacy
• AppsFlyer — install attribution, which measures which ads or links lead to installs. It receives device and install information, and uses your device's advertising identifier only if you allow tracking. AppsFlyer privacy
• Apple — App Store purchases and payments. We never receive your payment card details. Apple privacy

Tracking and your choices

Board Ready asks for your permission, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, before it accesses your device's advertising identifier. You can decline, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. The app works the same either way.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers listed above to operate the app, or when required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

Study data on your device stays there until you delete the app. Analytics and crash data are kept by our providers for limited periods under their retention settings. Subscription records are kept as long as needed to manage your purchases and meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because the app has no accounts, the data we hold is tied to anonymous identifiers. Email us and we will help with any request.

Children

Board Ready is intended for people preparing for professional licensing exams. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date above.
