These Terms govern your use of Board Ready. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These Terms supplement Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
The service
Board Ready is a study app for the cosmetology state board theory exam. It provides practice questions, explanations, focused drills, flashcards, and timed practice exams.
A study aid, not the exam
- Board Ready is an independent study app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology (NIC), any state board, or any textbook publisher.
- Our questions are written for practice. They are not questions from any actual exam.
- Readiness estimates are guidance, not a guarantee of any exam result.
- Licensing requirements differ by state. Check with your state board for your exam's current requirements.
Free features and Board Ready Pro
Some features are free. Board Ready Pro, an auto-renewing subscription, unlocks all content. The available plans, prices, and any free trial are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings (Manage subscriptions). Canceling stops future renewals; your access continues until the end of the period you paid for.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
Your responsibilities
- Use the app lawfully and for your own study.
- Do not copy, redistribute, or resell the app's content.
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse the app.
Intellectual property
The app, including its questions, explanations, and design, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other laws. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use it.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Board Ready is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any exam outcome. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
Changes and termination
We may update the app or these Terms. We will post updated Terms on this page and update the date above; continuing to use the app means you accept them. We may suspend access for conduct that violates these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
